The first recording was published by the band's own expence. The 1000 numbered first pressings were sold out long ago and there has been need for a reprint on CD-format.
In 1984 the band lived a new boom with blues-singing. They had been looking for a vocalist for years and lately found Reine Rimon, formerly a pop singer from the sixties, and with her the new era had rosen. She became fond of blues and studied intensively the style Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey had been working on. A new exciting repertory was created and the Finnish audience accepted it with enthusiasm. During that time we did also many parades in old New Orleans fashion with Grand Marshall, Reine, in the front and Old Time Jazz Band playing and marching and Second Liners following and dancing. That was nice to look at and listen and everybody had a good time.
The second LP-record was produced in the central point of traditional jazz - New Orleans, in 1986. The band had been invited to the 17th Jazz and Heritage Festivals and a few days after playing on the stage of "Storyville Jazz Hall" we recorded the material in a small studio to be cut after our return home. It was historic in being the first time that Finnish musicians had recorded together with New Orleans jazz musicians in the latters' home city their style of music. Not a single tune had been agreed on forehand - no rehearsals - only pure enthusiasm - that's jazz.
