Old Time Jazz Band Instrumentals:
The tunes on this "Instrumental-jazz"-CD have been chosen from the decade "1977-1987". Old Time Jazz Band lived at that time with renewed strength because Harri Aavaharju had taken Pertti Mustonen's place as a trumpetist. Pertti has left for year off and left also very hard times for the band because to find a trumpetist is the most serious task for a traditional band. Luckily Harri was very effective and eager to learn the style needed in spite of his bigband background.
Thanks to him the band soon got up to band stands from the cellar it has been rehearsing during the years.
The first tune gives a clear vision of the starting situation with a slightly uncertain hold of the style but this state doesn't last long. To create an independent style needs to start from the basis - the situation can be heard from the first part of the CD.
I have chosen here the best tunes from our LPs and 8 more instrumental tunes from our 30-years anniversary. On the latter part one can clearly feel the fine ensemble work of the band. The work during the decade has shown up how the members have learned to know each others and created a solid collective style of playing as a decent traditional band.
